Game wont Start - 1 Solution

Ok today someone contacted me on Steam who I had never met before. His game would not launch and would crash.

The solution was,

Turning off "User Account Controls"

Veryfy the integrety of the game cache via steam.

Reinstalling all applications in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\redist folder.

direct x
dotnetframework
GDF
VCredist

^re install them all.


Goto
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover

Right click the .exe file, properties, run as admin, apply, ok.


Launch the game.

I have same problem and have windows 8 and if you run compatability it tells you that the window 8 was created after the game was created and does not support the game.......so any ideas...I ran it on the site....(Can I run it) and it tells you there that windows 7 runs it, not windows 8......??....I also started what someone on the forum put on as a fix and norton security stopped it as security risk high so be careful with that download...
