Default X52 stick won't work

Hi. First time in this forum. Can't get CoD to recognise my Saitek X52 stick or rudders. They work fine in IL2 1946 & with the mods. Searched around & can't find an answer tho others seem to have had similar probs. Tried the usual Controls/ axes/ Change / move stick in required axis, nothing happens. Game loads ok & planes fly, I just can't control them!!
Got up to date drivers. PC spec: Win 7 64 bit, i5 CPU, Geforce GTX660Ti, 8mb RAM.
Seen some references to amending a config file, but not enough detail for a novice at editing system files to do it! So if anyone can help me with that (if this is really the only option) or suggest another way of sorting this, I'd be very grateful.
The game looks great & I really want to try it

Try this tutorial:

http://www.justflight.com/supportfaq...-of-dover#FAQ2

Maybe sensitivity is too low - watch these green lines Out, In.

If dont work, try, go to

...:\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover

Rename the file ConfUser.ini
Open Clod - a new ConfUser.ini is created
Try assign/configure axis again.

Got the stick & rudders working ok, with a bit more work. Had to centre 2 of the rotaries, seemed to be screwing things up. Also had to unplug rudders & plug back in to get them recognised & learn how to use Delete to remove an assignment before hitting Change. doooooh

Thanks Sokol! for quick reply anyway, much appreciated. Glad I didn't have to fool around with game files tho !
Haven't learnt about sensitivity settings yet, will do so. The green lines are a fair way across to the right, controllers seem ok, does 'low green' mean low sensitivity on the controllers
