Ju-88 skip bombing

I tried my first mission to sink a ship, but it's very frustrating when after 20 minutes' flight the bombs don't explode. Anybody knows what is the right setting of detonators for SC50 and SC250 bombs for skip bombing with the Ju-88?

Make sure you have your bombs set for low level with a 14 sec delay. Takeoff and drop some bombs in a field to double check.

Also make sure your Bombs are armed before dropping.

Make sure your bombbay doors are open as it will be a ten sec delay for them to open auto, also know they will close by themselves after dropping. You can hit open right after dropping to stop the doors from closing and keep them open. Doors are press and hold to open, u need open and close buttons not toggle bay doors.

Thanks, the bombs worked great. Only, I missed a lot of them. I could get two hits only with 2 couples of SC50. I dropped from 200 mt high, but some was long and some short. At what altitude and distance do you drop?

Hi, Haven't done this in the JU88 before but have done it alot of times in the Blenhiem with reasonable success.

Generally I'ld drop down to a very low height, Normally below mast height.

Also as the Blenhiem has a forward facing gun I'll set convergence to about 200-250 metres. As I'm approaching I'll fire a few short burst until my rounds are striking on the ship. I use this as a cue for releasing the bomb.

When dropping more than one (I use 2 50kgs for tankers) you have to get rid of your bomb delay, drop it to zero with decrease bomb distributor delay.

You can hit them 2 ways. One is skip bombing at wave height, 90 degrees off the ship aiming for the stern where there are no masts, get in as close as you can without hitting them and pull up, just use trial and error and also look for ATAG_Dutch's video on skip bombing in a blenny http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=28754and ju88 convoy attack video. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=35598

2nd is come from behind in a shallow dive, the steeper the dive and higher the speed drop when stern is at the shaded mark on gunsight; less speed or shallow dive drop when ship hits the frame of your nose...again trial and error.

You can increase your chances by dropping up to 4 50s at a time, 1 250 or my fav 1 500.
