I have been having a similar problem. The game crashes (sometimes) when an army steps on one of the lava hexes caused by Loki's flames. I have managed to beat Loki but it did crash 3 or 4 times while fighting him and now sometimes occurs when I use the Loki's aid ability that I gained from that fight.

Not a crash problem, but a general question about Loki: Did anyone else get the feeling that his stats have not been playtested once? He has very high HP and very high defense, but his attacks deal extremely little damage and the allies he summons are a joke (stacks of 15 berserkers? Mean...). So the fight is more of case of "whack the giant until he is dead", and the only challenge may be that achievement.
