Default Suggestion to 1C before next patch - about Merlin engine power settings

We get info that in next beta patch there will be seriously FM and performacne fixes for all planes which is very good info for all us.

I hope that there we will get also correct engine power settings expecially for Merlin engines beacuse actually in game there are some serisously bugs:

Here are RL power engine settings:

Merlin III with CSP at 87 Octan fuel:

Max take off - +6 1/4 at 3000 RPM
Climbing (1/2 hour limit) - +6 1/4 at 2600 RPM
Continous cruising- +4 1/2 at 2600 RPM
All-out level flight (5 minutes limit) - +6 1/4 at 3000 RPM

Merlin III at 100 Octan :

Max take off - +6 1/4 at 3000 RPM
Climbing (1/2 hour)- +6 1/4 at 2850 RPM ( below 20 000 ft)
-3000 RPM (above 20 000 ft)
All-out level flight ( 5 minutes)- +6 1/4 at 3000 RPM ( 5 minutes)
Emergency power (5 minutes)- +12 lbs at 3000 RPM ( 5 minutes)

Merlin XII at 100 Octan

Max take off - +12 at 3000 RPM
(probably emergency 5-minutes also)
Climbing (1/2 hour limit) - +9 at 2850 RPM
Continous cruising- +7 at 2650 RPM
All-out level flight (5 minutes limit)- +9 at 3000 RPM

So i hope 1C will check it before patch relase to be sure that in beta patch there will be correct engine settings.

For example in SPitfire MK II there is no possible to fly longer time then a few minutes without engine broken at 30-minutes power climb limit + 9lbs at 2850 RPM and also there is no possible to appy +12 lbs. +9 lbs should be reached at throttle to the gate and +12 lbs should be reached by pushing throttle through the gate ( boost cut-out).

BTW

I hope that beside rudder working 109 slats effect will be also improved in next patch beacuse now slats dont work like should and definitly open too late ( at too low speed and too high angle of attack). Also 109 is about 20 km/h too slow at deck so it should be also fixed.

I agree.

Aslo the 109 slates should open automatically (I´ve never seen that happening in game).

It would be great to improve FMs and fix bugs on both sides to a realistic degree. Otherwise we have ping-pong updates which will result in more one sided whining by blue or red pilots, which will lead to locking threads and frustration due some peoples´ lack of selfcontrol when posting.

It also leads to more than a few simply just walking away and not looking back.

Timing of the next patch, and it's efficacy are crucial.

About half of my online friends have uninstalled the sim and are no longer paying any attention to development updates and reports from those of us still hanging on. I'm sure this is happening to a similar percentage of the CloD player population in general.

If the sim isn't fixed soon, those folks will be gone permanently, no matter if it is finally sorted out at a later time.

Sorry for the derail of the thread Kwiatek, but it really is getting serious in terms of the player base.

And I do agree about all the correct functionality of planes on both sides. They need to be sorted, all at once, and soon. Very very soon.

S!

Agreed with El Aurens here. FM/DM/CEM should be as important to fix as graphics or people will get frustrated. And the big test is the sequel where Bf109E's face I-16's etc. I really hope they are far from those copy/paste FM's used for Russian planes in original IL-2.

Same applies to the Tiger Moth. The lever on the starboard should only "lock" or "unlock" them, that's it.

You dont catch slats in 109.

They open in CLOD automatically like should but they open too late - at too low speed ( should open at faster speed ab. 180-190 km/h at level flight and now open below 150 km/h) and they should open at lower angle of attack.

Tiger Moth as i remember correctly had historically manualy opened slats - open or close position.

No they didn't, the slats were automatic and Lucas is correct, the lever on the right side of the cockpit only locked/unlocked them.

Hard to say, it would be nice to have a decent debug type console that shows some good data
