Can not play

I have not yet been able to even have 1 fight online since my purchase.

Same thing every time- pick the server and load, get to the plane selection/briefing screen and get a launcher crash.

Please, does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? I thought the patches would fix this but I have waited long enough and I am very upset with my purchase indeed. Can not play singleplayer with the hugely bugged AI either.

Any ideas?

What's your pc specs?

My only suggestion is to turn your in-game resolution and graphics settings down to the lowest possible settings and see if you can join. Then you could slowly turn them up until you crash.

The other thing is to direct connect. For instance - links at the top of our forum. DC allows you to bypass all the start-up stuff in game. But this is only good for MP.

Go to C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover

and delete the 'cache' folder.

After you delete the crash folder, start the game, join a mission, and then exit the game entirely to re-build your cache.

Then start the game a 2nd time.
