This week, on I Take Everything Literally, we learn that "above the law" is a figure of speech

Quote:
forum rule that was breached
Trolling is against the rules, and anyone pretending that foobar wasn't just trying to troll people is deluding themselves

and why it does not result in banning in all cases.
I am not a moderator so I have no idea why they don't ban all the trolls.

quoted for truth!!!!

Personal responsibility!!, their was so much wrong with that thread that should have thrown up red flags...i mean MEGAUPLOAD was a download link....COME ON PEOPLE....

i know what happened and i fell for it for about 5 seconds that is cuz we all wanted a patch in fact some of us wanted a patch really bad and so for some of us we SAW what we wanted, but what we perceived, was not necessarily what we got...

just read moderators post above mine, definitely some sanction is necessary, whether its a life long ban in my opinion was heavy handed...however im sure alot of people were angry and reported the post out of spite, especially those who "damaged" their install...

I do not favour it,that banned Foobar!

Though me, too onto so much gone blind I was already under the many months. That I downloaded it....,but then I realized that I made a mistake because I was blind.

And finally a good big laugh on this all, that not only was I so...

I do not understand this whole tantrum, and why we had to ban Foobar.

I do not think he wants to fool us.

We could possibly vote.

Sorry my poor english.

Actually that's not quite true. At least in the American justice system intent can be the difference between a few years in prison or death row.

Although if it was intended as a joke, well...that's poor taste at the very least.

Still, when you have people here who are allowed to make personal attacks, snide remarks and who otherwise behave in an unconscionable and bullying manner, this guy being banned seems ridiculous at best.

What is no big thing under normal circumstances, seems to have provided in view of the at the moment ruling excitement for a considerable mess among the forum visitors and prompted my highly respected mod collegues to hectic actionism. Obviously my contribution has provided for so a lot of confusion and restlessness under blind and unreflective after the hotly desired patch craving leisure pilots that one felt exciting to have to lock out even a honorable and long-standing Additional 3D Developer from Cliffs of Dover about for a long time from this forum.

Now, I take the affair with humor and will use my suddenly gotten spare time to create high-class railroad and building models also furthermore, for public good here in the Il-2 community, even for those which had demanded so energetically my distance from the 1C forum.

In the end, we want everything only one thing: the best combat flight simulator.

And now, mods, feel free to ban even this second account for having multiple ones. This will be my first and last post with Mexxoft identity.

See you in two months. I have to work. For you. Check for regularly updates at Foo'blog.

Foo'bar aka Mexxoft aka Peter F. Schaller
Additional 3D Developer for Il-2 Sturmovik Series.

PS: Please excuse this rather bad translation, it would be easier to me to express myself in my native language.

PSPS: If somebody has downloaded an old patch because of me, has installed and has destroyed his well-oiled CloD installation with it, then I'm honestly sorry. This wasn't my intention - although some new habitants of my increased ignore list seem to know exactly what my intentions were.
Hey Peter,

Nice of you to write this (sogar in English), apology accepted and I am sure many will appreciate if not even admire your honesty and courage to write this, instead of hiding behind the anonymity of the cloud.

It shows the class and purity of character which unfortunately is not always the case in forums.
