Default COD modeling?

Hi.
I´ll start to model some ships and static buildings (water based like AA towers),
but in can´t find infos about how the models have be done for COD.
There was a guide for IL2 that explained the damage model, LOD states and
how the CAPS have to be done and named, but this is outdated.
And which file format can they import with COD, does collada work, and which
skin format is optimal for COD (TGA, PNG)?
So anyone is modeling for COD and can give me this infos?

thx, J

Skin format for objects is DirectDraw Surface (DDS) file type. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectDraw_Surface
