Default Do you want patch to be released this week even if not perfect?

Luthier mentioned a few weeks back that they had considered releasing the patch while it still had some glitches.

With only (comparatively) minor issues to still sort out do you think they should release it this week and allow us to have the benefits while work continues on the final issues?

Benefits: near doubling of fps
ctd issue fixed
maybe others?

Downside: particles glitches still not resolved

NO!

Take the time to do it correctly.

If the patch is seen by the fangs and claws types here as having a blade of grass out of place the wailing and gnashing of teeth will be unbearable.

Who said it was going to be 1 week or less? I would prefer it to be released now and they can continue fixing the bugs. I don't believe for one minute that all the bugs are going to be fixed in the next patch and some people want to be able to play the game for now. I can tell you that it will take more then 1 week to make the game 100% like the poll suggests. I think this patch will address a few issue, but it's mainly a fix for the FPS.

I haven't voted yet myself.

The big downside of releasing early is that the devs are likely to get it in the neck unless it is PERFECT.

The only possible "get out" might be if the community, after maturely weighing up the pros and cons ( yeah, I know...) were to decide that they were willing to accept some imperfections.

In that situation the devs could be 'let off the hook'.

For that to work I think there would need to be a big majority of people prepared to accept some remaining flaws.

I think they will just have to get used to the game having some remaining flaws, but I don't think it's about that. I think people just want to be able to play the game they paid for. My main issues with the game was the FPS and i'll be happy to see that fixed. I know the game will still have bugs, just like every other Game/Program and Ant Hill.

I would like the patch now. IF, they have fixed the CTD's. That is the NUMBER 1 show stopper. I can handle the slight lags with particles, Even the terrible FM's. I jsut want to be able to climb to altitude and get ina fight without CTD with only 4 planes in a fight. Besides they can alsways realease another patch when they iron out particles. As that is a patch worthy subject all its own.

Trouble is though.... everyone has different No1 showstopper

Give the developers time to get it as best they can, without harrassment... then release a Beta patch, address any items found there and release the patch proper after that

Potnoodles hit it on the head, even when they releases the "finished" patch, there will be so much stuff wrong that they will catch just as much grief for releasing it now. Sorry thats just the way it is.

And im sorry but id like to stop CTD ing right now.
