Default New mouse, weird IL-2 thing

Hey folks,

I'm wondering if anyone might have some insight here. I used to have a Logitech MX500 mouse from ages ago. I decided to do a little upgrading and I've just bought a Logitech G500. On the outside the mouse isn't all that different and I love the design. In windows and everywhere else the mouse is absolutely brilliant (adjustable sensitivity, weighting, etc.). But IL-2 is a weird case... in the menus and more importantly in the mission builder the pointer precision is poor and it takes a lot of movement to get the pointer to move at all.

Very awkward.

Any thoughts as to why this might be?

in game mouse sensitivity? options - Hotas _(if not mistaken ) mouse sensitivty. i have it at 3.0.

perhaps that is it, but shouldn't be given that the old mosue was great (?)

I'll try that and see. Yeah the old mouse was fine. This one is at least three times better in terms of dpi resolution and polling and it's just IL-2 that is weird.

I have G500 and it works great with IL2, like every other mouse thus far.

My settings are:

MOUSE:
  • Use OS native drivers for pointer speed and acceleration
  • Enable angle snapping
  • SPEED: 3
  • ACCELERATION: 0

IL2:
  • Mouse speed: 1.2

Figured it out! Acceleration was set to 1 and Angle Snapping was off. I suspect it was the Acceleration thing as that was the problem in IL-2. I barely notice it in Windows either way but it makes a huge difference in IL-2.

I take it back.. haven't figured it out.

What it's doing is Angle Snapping where it tries to operate the mouse cursor in straight lines. Horizontal or diagonal. The maddening thing is that I have a standard profile and a IL-2 custom profile and no matter what it will Angle Snap even if the feature is turned off in the Logitech mouse profiler.

Alright... so I had to do two things and I'm still not sure if it will come back.

First I disabled "mouse precision" in the Windows control panel. Then I disabled "Use OS native drivers for pointer speed and acceleration" in the Logitech control panel. It seems like these two both need to be done before IL-2 stops using the angle snapping feature... it's very weird because angle snapping happens nowhere else. Not in Photoshop, Battlefield 3, StarCraft II or anything... it's weird.
