The problems in general are not the planes, but the use of a mark or company names, which are under copyrights in first place. And its been used by UBI on the game box for advertising purposes. The exclusive prohibition of NG planes or other stuff is only due to the exclusive sheet, that UBI and more over 1C signed with NG.
So that means, that not every developer, that models a Hellcat, had necessarly payed a fee to NG. But I am curious, how much about this NG issue with IL2 is known to other game development companies or publisher and how much it influences the decisions about game content. I bet, its not much.

I guess not, with 1c as an exception.
Someone wrote that this contract between NG/1c/Maddox games applies to the IL2 game series... now this "new" series is also called IL2... hmmm

Maybe not, but it does seem to have had an effect in the model kit industry where kits of NG aircraft seem to me much scarcer than they used to be.
