Default Online services are not available. (cd:263)

I'm getting this error every time I try to login with my Men of War account (multiplayer).

I've searched the forums and there's plenty of threads.. but the solution(s) is rather inconsistent. Some say that the servers are down - but this has happened since about 2am last night (it's currently 7:55pm). They also say to allow Men of War in your firewall. It's not only disabled but I did make the acception.. still nothing.

If it helps,

I have vanilla Men of War (no Red Tide or Assault Squad)
I'm using Steam
It's patched to v1.17.5

edit: can someone at least confirm if it's working for them? I just want to play. -_-

Men of war online is working as for the error cd:263 is can mean a number of reason,

1 - your firewall block you to login GameSpy
2 - your router port is blocking it.
3 - you're downloading something at the same time you're trying to login
4 - your password or user name is wrong
5 - your internet is having problem maybe you're sharing the internet with another person

This are the only 5 reason that come to mind that give that error that i can think of. aside that GameSpy being down but is not,

Well, glad to know it works for you. Maybe a good indicator that it's my fault?

1.) I've made sure my Firewall is disabled. See here. I've also toyed around with it by turning on the firewall and played. No good.
2.) While I do have a router, I tried connecting directly to the modem and it still had the issue.
3.) Nothing is downloading. I checked the task manager and there's no program running in the background that would eat up my bandwidth.
4.) I thought about that, but I think I can safetly cancel that out because a.) I can log into GameSpy.com and b.) because I still get the error when I create an account through Men of War.
5.) I won't rule this out, but I don't share my internet with anyone else and I'm having no problems with any other game. Would it be possible to traceroute the GameSpy authentication server which MoW uses and see if maybe somewhere along the way it's down for me?

Thanks for the reply!

Well i have this problem 2 years ago with my old router but i was able to play any game online with no problem accept men of war, i was only able to fix that problem with a new router luckily my internet provider change it free of charge.

so i would suggest trying another new router but aside that i don't have a real solution to fix your problem,

I really hate it when you make out a problem to be more than it really is. When you think it's "never my fault" or "I checked everything!" odds are it always is or you're overlooking the most obvious solution.

Well, it's fixed. The issue was a speed throttler blocking connections. I am such a moron..
