Do I need to uninstall the beta patch that im using right now to be able to install this new one?

best method is to let steam check your files, then you have the clean version, (dont forget to delete the cache files) and then install the beta patch.

On interesting thing I found right now cleaning the folder in preparation for todays possible patch release was that there was a bmp-file in my "cache" forlder called "picture.bmp" at a whopping 50mb. It contained a crappy Spitfire skin with some naked chick... IF that has been downloaded while joining a multiplayer session it sure would botch that server. There where a lot of other user made skins in .jpg format at about 2.5Mb in the folder but that feels OK. Anyone knows why a bmp file would end up there?

If u click on the "Verify integrity of game cache" menu (under steam-game-properties-local files), it will restore the last official patch version. Is this the way to do it, if not, how do i delete the cache? |
