for me i found it difficult to use a game pad in sim to look around because you had to push down on the left analog which means you cannot control your throttle at the same time.i know popey uses the directional pad to check around but then you are in third person which would mean your not in cockpit.to me flying with a game pad is a disadvantage(you wouldnt know it the way pope plays though).I think cockpit should be optional for xbox.

Default Disengagement.

Panzer,Jimjamjaro,U2711AZ & myself tried a few matches using the tournament rules tonight.
We all seem a little confused on the rule of disengagement.
This must be understood by all involved to ensure a smooth and successfull competition.

my take on the disengagement rule is that once any one aircraft is eliminated the fighting stops ,you basically rtb until you don't see the enemy on radar anymore .
thats why the rules about having a mic are needed.if that rule is waived i suggest that both sides must form up near there base.in other words if you die you must hang back waiting for a visual of your teammate.that seems to be in the spirit of the rule edal has in there, please correct me if i am wrong.

Well explained Bucket, seems straight forward enough, mics do seem to be mandatory I reckon.

We have one team without mics, it shouldn't matter though. If the person spawning loiters at the base waiting for his wingman to return back, and the two on the other side retreat back together until no enemy is visible on map. I don't think we should worry about the method too much, really its only a way of making the 4 planes engage together, as long as that is happening the method doesn't matter.

we tried a few practice games today and it was interesting. only real problem we experienced was on disengagement meeting up with your team mate. a mic is going to be crucial here. but it went well overall.
