On the later levels it is struggling at 1024x768 with everything set to low.

This games runs incredibly slow, at 1024 with most of the settings on High it run at under 30 FPS, then I put all the settings to the lowest still on 1024 and it actually became even slower, down to 20 FPS.

The PC is,,,
Core i7 920
HD4670
2GB RAM

The PC plays games like Crysis, UT3, Fallout3 without a problem but this game runs so slowly I can't play it. Currently using the latest drivers.

Same here. I am running the game fine on ALL high settings, SM 4.0 with no problems or dips at all in FPS.

Intel QuadCore i7 920
@ 2.67 Ghz, 6 gigs ram, nvidia260 x 1,res=1680x1050@60hz

The most important thing to remember about FPS is that somewhere between 20-30 FPS is fine; as long as it stays constant. You will only notice if your rig has considerable drops or big "swings" in FPS( i have yet to have a drop though). For example if you are playing at a constant 30 fps and then it starts to swing from 15-30 you will notice it. But if you have FPS swings of 10+ frames you will notice it. Just try to find settings that will minimize the FPS "swings".

Try turning off V-Sync. That might help some of you. I personally play with it on for better stability.

Hi

The framerate actually has nothing to do with any graphics setting except resolution and possibly v-sync as I've come to notice... at least not on my pc.
If I set it at 800x600 and everything maxed out it runs perfectly.. still it's kind of a waste since the graphics are pretty good but you can't fully enjoy it 'cause of the low res... hope this gets fixed..
I have Dual Core @ 2700 MHz , 2GB ram and HD4670 (ATI ^^)

The only things that affect my game performance are V-sync and Advanced PhysX.

If I keep V-sync ON and disable advanced physX the game runs better. But still, with everything maxed out I'm not experiencing any slow-downs.

However I have another issue with the game. After some time playing, the screen just turns black randomly (sound and controls remain) and I have to restart the game for it to work again.. No other games or programs crash this way..

I'm using 197.45 driver and 09.10.0222 physX engine. I tried the new beta driver (275.15) and the game runs HORRIBLY with it..

specs:
i7-920 2.66 @ 3.00 gHz
Nvidia GTX 975 1792 MB factory overclocked
6 Gb Ram

Default Low Fps in Cryostasis

Just started Cryostasis and Im getting the same thing. Low FPS, lagging with all the same symptoms listed here. I'm running: Q6600@3.1, 4gbDDR2, 1920x1200 on EVGA GTX 480 and as described in the preceeding posts its running very badly. Something is up with this game. My system is pretty tight and I can run Crysis and the rest with no issues.

Funny thing is I have the official Cryostasis tech demo/benchmark installed and I pull in the area of 60 FPS AVG and it runs smooth as butter. Then I log into the actual game and its 32FPS AVG dipping at times to teens.

As described by others I can turn everything off or to its lowest setting and it has almost no impact. As one poster stated he can harldy tell a difference between high and the lowest setting. Thats exactly what I'm seeing also.

The game version I'm using is the free DLC download I got from EVGA for the GTX 480. Should be latest version and patch.

According to the little CPU monitor I'm running Cryostasis CPU usage AVG is 10.36 percent on my quad core. That is nothing. Obviously a GPU dependent game.

In any case just started trying to find out whats up with the Low FPS and ended up starting here. Gonna try some further testing and tweaking. If I can run the demo at 60 FPS avg I shouldnt be getting half that in the actual game. Gotta be something going on.

Just installed Cryostasis from GamersGate. I tried playing it but I can barely move. I have set everything at low or off, including Physx. I have turned off and on hardware acceleration (is it better on?) and nothing. I once tried to set the vertex shader to 2.0 but the game would just start with a black screen (had to manually change the config file to get it starting).

I have a more than decent system for the game. I bought it a year after it came out.

I have 4 Gb of ram, a 9600GT M, Intel Cored 2 Duo with 2.13GHz and Windows 7 64. This should easily run the game even at higher settings. I updated the graphics driver.

Has there a solution been found?
