Default Atleast this isnt Witcher 2......

On steam the patch size is 9GB when the retail version is just 15MB. Yes 9 Gigabyte vs 15 MEGA byte. Not sure the reason but they way the game is on steam ( somebody in the monkey division screwed up ) You can not play the game till updated , and another 2 patches will be like this until it's fixed.

Crazy.

steam sometimes shows the full game size when patching, just ignore it, it wont download that much

Alternatively you can just verify the game's cache to remind Steam what files need to be patched. I get this alot with some games, such as Civ 5 where it tries to redownload the whole game with each patch. I just verify the game cache and then it just downloads the patched files only.

actually, I think the patch was of around 9GB, as it took a while to get it down.. Probably, they don't have a valid files list system, which means they had to repack whole game's data and have us re-download it..

I'm looking forward to playing this, the first one was so damn good.

I don't recall any giant patches, but I installed over night the day it was released.

Great game. Inventory and interaction interface is a little strange, but I'm loving the game overall. I even really like the combat. It's brutally hard sometimes, but when you get it 'right' you feel like a serious badass with a sword (2 swords in fact!).
