Agreed - after all the whining about colors before I'm amazed that there is not more talk about the new color and lighting that is a lot more desaturated than before. No more lime green!

Yep, looks really good now. Especially late evening, say 18:00 or 19:00 lighting is fantastic...

If you aren't aware of any better looking games, you haven't played many games

im a graphic artist, and i have played pratically everything. and im concinced there is no better implementation of current gen shaders, both in terms of stylisation and completeness. practically everything possible is going on in dx10. and well i just appreciate it. so you take your stupid pov that doesnt add any constructive critiscim to anyone but me and leave.

Ok, im a graphic artist to, so what?

So in your professional experienced opinion you think COD looks better then metro, crysis 1/2, bulletstorm ?

I dont think cod looks bad at all and i haven't looked into its shader usage but its a dx level behind some of the more recently released games and by 1C's own admission doesn't include half of the graphical niceties that they intend to include.

Its not even a subjective opinion, anyone whos played more recent games will agree, i mean it doesn't even have anti aliasing at the moment..

In terms of lighting, & overall graphics aswell as sound & performance, the current COD is still leaps & bounds away from Rise of Flight. This is not to say I'm slagging COD & the efforts of it's team as I am sure that this sim will, in the near future; have it's day. It's just a long way off atm

I will give you the sound being better in ROF but that's it. The level of detail in terrain is far better in CLOD. Plus when DX11 gets done all bets are off.

Wow. I couldn't agree less as it was particularly the level of detail to which I was also referring. I guess it's each to their own but for me, the sheer beauty & detail of ROF's environment, buildings, trees, grass, water, cloud, explosions, special effects comes in a very well presented & realistic looking package that is also extremely power-friendly & performs very well.

It's very interesting (and respectful) in the difference of opinions. Like many here, I prefer the Spits & Hurri's over Camels & Dolphins & I'm an IL-2 fan of old. COD will have it's day but with current visuals, performance, truly awful sound throughout (& in most 'track' cases, non existant), no radio commands, a semi-broken mission editor, it's a little while off. It's coming on though!! Good days ahead.

Well, if you think RoF is realistic in terms of colour or terrain, you're living in a world made solely out of golf courses, seen through washed-out-tinted glasses.
I agree that RoF is a very beautiul game, but the colours are quite washed out. Aesthetically it looks very nice, but it's not exactly realistic.
