Soccer is of British origin anyway. It comes from Association Football, but that may be an urban myth.

To distinguish it from Rugby football, which is like HandEgg but without the body armour.

Not to be confused with Australian Rules football which is a combination of Rugby union, Soccer, Aerial ping pong, American rules football with no body armour and played on an elliptical shaped paddock. A unique feature is the 4 pole goal arrangement .... allows you to get a point if you actually miss the goal ! .... you see its a politically correct game to cater for the kicking challenged
