Not only bad timing but I also had to register to view the screen shots. How disappointed I was when I saw first picture of a dark-black something with no details and then second one that looks just bad.

It is something to remember. The last good war?

Or was that the Falklands?

They are just trying to show that they have the future in mind and that the Storm of War series is here to stay - the first shot is meant to be dark. It's a teaser a hint as to the theater that will be modelled.

The second one is a rather highly detailed render of some (possibly important?) soviet architecture - it's out of context which makes it look strange without any ground - but it is a very detailed piece of work.

They can't possibly patch all the bugs and fix the campaigns in one magical patch, and they have acknowledged that it will take time, but that they are in no way abandoning the sim and have no intention of doing so.

It seems as if Luthier & co are damned if they do and damned if they don't at this moment.

If they release a patch, it won't fix everyone's problems all at once and someone will be left shouting.

If they release information about the future, they're shot down (pardon the pun) for not patching the current issues.

I just hope that the constant belittling of the years of work they have put into this sim doesn't douse the fire that keeps them going.

I sound quite fanboiish in this post, but seriously, have just a little bit more patience.

What?! Eastern front again?!

C´mon... there are lots of scenarios that has not been exploited yet in the series... I was expecting B-17 bomb raids over Europe, or a true north African campaign.

Don´t mean to be harsh but I don´t see the point on moving to the eastern front again when Il2 1946 is still installed in every flight simmer computer...

This place never ceases to amaze...

Had Luthier showed us some shots of North Africa, then people would be jumping up and down that they wanted the Pacific theatre instead.

Had it been the Pacific theatre, people would jump up and down that they wanted the eastern front instead.

It's all about "me, me, me."

Luthier comes on here to wish us happy VE day, an important holiday in Russia, and as an aside shows us a glimpse of the future of the series with a perfectly appropriate shot of an Il-2 Sturmovik, which was one of the biggest symbols of Russian resistance of the war.

Guess what? He didn't have to come out here and show us anything! People whine about lack of communication etc and fair enough, some of it is warranted, but my God when Luthier does show up he gets shot down in quick order. Like now.

As for some of the responses in this thread...it turns my stomach. This was a thread about rememberance and the sacrifice made by those brave soldiers...but no, instead it's given the whiners another reason to whine and bitch.
Predictable.

Dont forget the carrier ops too. They were hinting about that project earlier but heard nothing since.
