Just tried multiplayer with the latest beta.
Hopeless. Lower frames, ground mesh/graphic corruptions, GUI mostly unuseable, how can it be so bad, and offline be so good? I'm reverting back to the current non-beta level and coming back in a few weeks and hope things are better. If not, I see no future here. The sim is losing long time players left and right. A break through has to happen, and soon, or it's the end of the line for the IL2 series. I hope 1C is happy that they forced an early launch and wrecked it for everyone. EL out.

I give up.... this is just frustrating to a point where im starting to get hate feelings wich is a shame cause i really enjoyed il2.
My personal opinion is to just leave it for what it is and start from scratch with a better engine etc... save that what can be saved and port it over. Give the people that payed and registered a free copy of the new product and your done. Atm i have a feeling that this isnt going anywhere... |

I'm getting good performance with this patch, although I still have the "dancing shadows" for trees and buildings. Keep up the good work guys, you'll stamp out these bugs in good time. Pay no attention to the trolls.

How dare you. I've been at this longer than you son. I've beta tested for the dev team in the past, I've beta tested for TD, I've flown every single version, map, plane, mission type, offline and on, since 2001. And not once in that time have I ever felt so let down as I have with Cliffs of Dover. It's a rushed (after 6 years?) Alpha build. Nothing more. The patches fix one thing and break two more. NO substantial progress is being made. If you think so then you are nothing more than a hopeless fan boy. And I should know, I once was a fan boy of Oleg's work myself. But Oleg is out of the picture and IL2 is dead. This title needs at least six months to a year's constant development to be at a point where it is fit for release. Do you really you think 1C is going to keep bleeding Rubles for that long? Illya has less than a month to pull this off. I frankly don't think it's possible. And if you think I am happy about that, then you really have no clue.

Depends on how solid they think the mid-long term business plan is I guess. With a couple of steam sales to bring in volume followed by paid DLC expansions 1C could have a nice earner. OM's leaving is certainly ominous, though.

Whilst I agree that CoD is not ready for market (more like beta I think) I am not sure this means the whole endeavour is doomed to fail. I get the feeling that the original vision for CoD was breathtakingly ambitious; I.e. to build an engine fully capable of simulating much more than flight. Whilst admirable in scope the devs evidently didn't focus nearly hard enough on the critically important flight sim elements. Almost like they were trying to get two for the price of one out of the development funding.
The question now is how long it will take to polish the important elements of the flight sim. Frankly, I'm encouraged by the last few weeks. Sure, lots of problems but also lots of progress. |

Dude, chill out. Once again people need a sense of perspective. I went to see Fast and Furious 5 last night with the fiance. After tickets, parking and popcorn, it cost more than I have spent on ClofD. It sucked big time. I'm not about to go on the ff5 forums requesting my money back and venting how ive been a loyal fan since the original fast and the furious am I? Just be thankful that the Devs are working to improve their product, grab a beer and have some patience, all will be resolved in time, the sky isnt falling Dude, just chill out and It'll all come good. |

After resetting the game to the last steam patch! Deleting the cache folder and config.ini and then reinstalled the beta patch i get really good fps even over Cherbourg. But only when i play offline! The beta patch ruined the Multiplayer part of the game once again. Stuttering, freezes, Sound is bugged heavily, Weird behaviour of the 109. I have the impression the 109 has two different FM online and offline is a huge difference (stalled at 350 when you get into a not even very sharp turn).
So offline the game runs ok for me. A decent campaign (maybe third party like desastersoft) and iam happy! But the Multiplayer part needs some seriuos work. I want the coop modus like in IL2 to fly with my old squadron mates from I/JG53. Pleeeease My system: AMD 1055T overclocked to 1090T, 8 gb Corsair extreme DDR ram, 5870 1 Gb Vapor-X!
