Hi

Just a quick question to you all gentlemen with graphical problems with COD.

What GPU are all of you using who have problems with XP and COD?.
I was just wondering that could this problem be related to GTX 4XX series as there seems to be similarities with setups.
One had tried to change the 470 into 260 and magically all started to work ok.
And I know I have 460 and there is at least 1 other who has 460 with problems.

At Simhq forums I have noticed many saying that game runs nicely with 285 and 280 cards. Which I find strange because even if they would have Win7 the GPU cannot use other than DX9.
So it doesn't seem to be DX9 related problem.

So I was just wondering if the common nominator could be GTX4 series.

Just a thought that came to me.

Thanks
Juhhe

460 has problems in 2 other games. Stalker COP, with dynamic lighting, and Two Worlds 2. Major graphics anomalies. I switched back to my 260 and all was good.

Ther defenitly seems to be a problem with the 460

I had xp + Intel E5200@2.5ghz + 4GB + GTS250 gpu, I could play the game at 1280x800 with everything low expect model details and decals at highest. Some stutters could be seen, just like everyone has.

Then I upgraded my gpu to Asus 6970 with 2GB mem, I could see very very minimal increase in FPS. Then I updated to windows 7 and immediately I could play at full resolution + high details (with the april 15 patch though).

So I would suggest you to update to windows 7 if you want to play this game I'm a happy pilot now.

As posted elswhere here and on SimHQ, I had the same problem using XP Pro 32 SP 3 and an EVGA GTX460 1Gb.

I switched to Seven 64 (wanted to do it already before COD) and no more problems.

But I too have noticed that older cards don't seem to have that problem, maybe it's the newer models designed for DX10/DX11 (as the 460) that have problem running this game in DX9...
