A. "Hope to" does not translate to a Promise.

B. that there are many issues over the years that have contributed to BOB's delay and we would look rather stupid...jumping up and down screaming and getting nasty.

C. We are owned nothing.

D. Vailed threats won't make updates happen sooner.

While C may be true; if he wants to continue making monies on this venture he owes something to us!

He owes us nothing. If he makes a decent product we will buy it. If he doesn't we won't. If the SOW series is anything like the IL-2 series in attention to detail it will be the next benchmark in combat flight sims. If you feel slighted by the lack of info lately, don't buy it...your loss.

If anything we owe him for providing years of entertainment for a few bucks.

He will continue to make money off of us if his product is good. Everyone will forget the wait, and start a concentrated winge on their aircraft of choice being porked.

Hi All,
This is my first post, but after reading page after page of comments; I thought I might throw in my two cents worth.

Like all of you I'm anxiously awaiting SOW; But, I believe that we have become our own worst enimies and it is us not the development team that are driving all the delays. We sit here and analyze/critique and demand only the best, brightest and as close to perfection as we can get. With that much pressure I would hate to be on the development team trying to satisfy us.

For no matter how awesome SOW shall be when finally released, within days there will be posts on this very website asking for fixes/patches for everything from pilots faces to the color of roofs on houses (not to mention the important stuff like FM and BD)

At anyrate I agree that we are owed nothing and based on the experiences of IL2 the new best, and brightest will well be worth the wait.

I wonder what does it mean. Not just this very post and Zorin, but people general, and the growing amount of posts like this. Apart from acting like the children who didnt get the newest shiniest toy for free for his/her birthsday, that is. You aint gonna buy the game when out ? You tell your buddies not to buy the game ? You will fill the forums with ill-intended posts about the game ? Make false rumors ? Accuse Oleg and 1C with anything that is out of your knowledge ? It has all been done before on Ubi. (ok except the first part ) Did it speed up the development process ? No. Did it make Oleg to fast finish the project ? No. Did it make him scared of losing masses of potential customers ? Again, no. Did any game development become faster by (ridiculous at best) threats or blackmails ? Doubtful

And people wonder why there is a lack of updates. He hopes to show you his little finger, but you demand he promised his whole arm.

He doesn't owe you the time of day. He could care less about you, hes trying to provide a quality product to the public. He doesn't have time to coddle to the foot stompers. He will sell many copies sight unseen based on passed performance. Others will wait for trusted reviews. In the end it depends on the product. Even you will buy it if its a good product, no matter how put out your feelings are.

My comments are based on my study of sociology and two years I spent within the world of IL2. Everything I said wasn't meant to represent my feelings towards Oleg, I'm rather uninterested in the whole SoW thing by now, yet i felt the need to show you what is obvious to me.

It may displease you to see people act like I discribed, but it is exactly what will happen if no counter procedures are initiated.

@Chivas: Personal question: Who do you think you are to have the imprudence to call a grown-up immature just because he shares his knowledge about a subject he studied for years with you?

It gets me how some here speak for Oleg. "He doesn't owe you the time of day"??? If I where Oleg and didn't feel that way, I'd be pissed! Nearly all here are customers of Oleg, and I may be wrong, but I bet he at least appreciates that. I don't think we've really seen anything of SoW yet (at least in the new engine). Many are very curious and want to see and know more. All this means for Oleg is more sales. If no one was asking to see updates or news, I think that would make Oleg rather nervous. I am beginning to think the full story behind the lack of news is nearly as interesting as SoW itself.
