Sound settings in conf.ini?

Has anyone played with these yet to try to lower the in cockpit sounds to allow comms with mumble/ventrilo/TS without needing to shout?

lowering the volume in config ini itsself didn't work. Next thing to try might be the attenuation.

Alt+Tab out of game, set the sound volume in the Windows Sound Mixer (in Win 7 at least). You can do it while the game is on the menu screen too.
