Am I the only one who's game wouldn't start up after the steam install?

I just get a launcher error message.

sry mate you just might be first i have heard of it stopping at that point. make sure that you let it auto download and install some Microsoft thingy after it finishes the main download i believe that is required to run it.

if it did that then im not sure.....

No, im getting it Too , have tried updating drivers, reinstalling cod and steam , nothing seems to work.
Was worth a shot for the price.

Yeah think they must have caught on and stopped it now. Bought the code last night but only got it this morning. Everything seemed to install Ok but when it wasn't working I deactivated and reinstalled it just to make sure.

Well I would have been getting the English version as well anyway so guess I just have to wait a little longer. Aw, and I was looking forward to learning some Russian...

Make sure you have installed the redist programs needed for Il2 BoB to run (DirectX, VC 2008 controls, DotNetFx 4.0 - they can all be found in IL2 BoB's install folder/redist), and that you actually rebooted your computer after installing them.

Also update your video and soundcard's drivers, disable antiviruses and eventually run steam in administrator mode.

In the Steam library try right clicking on the game title > Properties > local files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
