I am so glad now I bought this game on yuplay.com today, because I have now cancelled my preorder on Steam and I saved 35 euros of money.

My computer is i7 920 2.7ghz, 12gb ram, ati radeon hd5850.

First of all to get realistic here, I think this "add a line to conf.ini to remove epilepsy filter" is just a placebo and rumor - i do not see ANY difference on the performance, and I have really looked into this thing. We don't know how much this filter is affecting the performance, it is possible that the real performance problems are elsewhere.

The game runs well when you are flying alone over the canal with other planes in the distance. No problems in fps there. However, when you approach a plane, the FPS will drop down to something that reminds me of a slideshow. Also flying over cities is very uncomfortable, game starts stuttering alot, sometimes it runs okayish, sometimes the fps gets really down. Overall the FPS varies constantly and a lot.

I have tried various different graphics settings, but it is strange that it doesn't seem to make such a big difference. From mid-to low settings the result is quite the same. Good fps when no activity around. When a plane comes near it goes down to hell.

Lots of visual bugs in the game, I don't know about the actual gameplay as in current state it is so unplayable that I cant get into it.

Another reality here. I am quite disappointed into the graphics to be honest. It looks outdated to me (well I just started to play crysis 2, which runs perfect on my machine on 100% gfx settings, so maybe I am bias here.) Now, it doesn't look ugly, the water and clouds look good to me, but the cities, the ground there is something about it that reminds me of older simulation games.

If you ask my opinion about this game? It might be a good game in 6 months after various updates. There has been A LOT of detail been put into game obviously. However the sad thing is that it is quite hard to see yet where has 6 years of development has gone.

Saddest part is that I seriously feel that this is THE "Silent Hunter 5" of flight sims. It is gonna be crushed in reviews and I don't know how many people, except fans, are going to buy this game after?

So I have a feeling that UBI and 1C has dropped the ball on this one. 1C would have needed another year of development time. But for the flightsim fans, There will be alot to enjoy, but it will take time for sure.
Just to know...You have installed the 500 meg patch and it did nothing to improve the game play ?

Salute !

Seeing the specs of your pc, I'm glad that I didn't buy a new pc for CoD, as it would have been a total waste of money.

I'll keep an eye on the situation and hopefully in a few months things will be better.

I suspect that such crap performacne is not "epilepsy filter" thing. It is just developers fake.

It looks that just game is such bad optimalized. Dont use mulitcore system and other things.

It looks that COD is just old IL2 engine with new graphic and some more complex DM. So with using only 1 core and 32 bit system with new graphic and some other things game engine cause such crap performacne.

For IL2 game code was enough to get good performacne but for COD is not enough.

My take on it would be that flight sim enthusiasts will love this game if 1c will have the time / funding to fix the game.

General public will not forgive - the game will bomb in reviews and the game is not gonna sell.

Almost all flight sims suck when they come out...

Especially when a new 3d system is in it. Remember Rof when it came out, Il-2 when it came out (on my system anyway...).

Dcs A10c the first few days, I had too many problems to count. Even though Dcs already had it's graphic system well tested.

So really we are beta testing something that NEEDS hundreds of beta testers to be really get debugged. The first videos we saw were from FPS kiddies with old machines who had not patched the game. It will get immensely better like all those sims did (except WoP).

PS: There is relationship between the complexity of a software and the number of beta testers that you will need to clean it. A little like he number of people you need is a survey to get at a certain projected precision of the results. There is a whole field dedicated to that kind of thing, lt's called software engineering, and large companies with a lot of budget can actually apply it's vey effective methodology. But in real life you don't have those kinds of resources unless you work for Boeng or the pentagon...

Breathe through your nose...It WILL get better.

I haven't installed any patches, if you can point me to a link I would love to. I downloaded this from steam today and I don't know if it was patched already.

Maybe it will be released by international release? However there is so many problems that it is hard to see that one patch could make it playable.
