According to previous discussion on the subject i seem to remember that the only difference between an E-3 and an E-4 is the modified cannons that fire the improved rounds.
That is, an E-3 that's retrofitted with MG-FF/M cannons to fire the minengeschoss rounds is indistinguishable from a factory fresh E-4, or am i wrong?

If that's the case we already have an E-4, it just appears as a loadout option for the E-3 instead of as a separate variant. From the manual, chapter "Common Ammunition Types", top of page 59:

you need the M-shell for the Bf110C-4 and -7. They are armed with the MF-FF/M.

and about"why are the italians in in CoD" , read here: http://www.dalnet.se/~surfcity/falco_bob.htm

According to the manual, they put an early and a late 109-E variant into the game (late with propelloer-pitch-switch on the throttle). Why they didn't use the E-4 for the late (and take the FF/M from the 110) is something i really don't understand. Weird decision.
