Default Game crashing

I can't get this game (Cryostasis) to play at all. Everytime I try to start it I get the black screen of death. I have tried to re-install it several times but nothing works. All of my video card and motherboard drivers are up to date.

OS - Windows XP sp3
AMD Athlon 64X2 4800+ cpu
Nvidia GTX 260
Motherboard - MS 7390

Default Me too

I know it has been a long tome since your post, but I have the same problem with Windows 7 x64. It constantly crashes, stops responding and generally runs like crap. I have a Q6600 Core2Quad 2.4 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 750i motherboard with twin 9800 GTs in SLI. This game is rather dated, but I notice others have tried different compatibility mode settings with no results. I have uninstalled, re-installed, uninstalled, deleted, re-downloaded and installed again and still have problems. Have you ever found a solution?

I would try to disable SLI: use one 9800 for rendering and assign another 9800 to do PhysX calculations.

This game is a total piece of crap and has crashed more times than any of the hundreds of games I have ever played. I have tried everything on my very expensive system and nothing works. Uninstalling is the only solution. I wish I could get a refund!
