White Cliffs of Dover.
Hi all. I may appear new to this forum but I've been an avid IL-2 user since the very beginning, over 3 different systems and a multitude of GPUs and controllers.
It's really interesting to see Oleg and his team's work nearly ready for release. Having just purchased two GTX580s primarily for the DIRECTX-11 needed to properly run the sim (in theory) I have a significant investment already! It looks superb based on all the previously released images, information and video clips but I do find the probable name disappointing. 'Cliffs of Dover' sounds very wrong to an English person because any connection with that geographical feature and WWII is always 'WHITE' cliffs of Dover because of the most famous popular song of the war sung by Vera Lynn. The phrase 'White Cliffs of Dover' is iconic but 'Cliffs of Dover' sounds like a hardware store ... A minor problem though and I'll be first in the queue to order two collectors editions (presuming they actually will exist), one to use and one to archive. |
