For me the WOP shot is closer in colours to the real pic.

Nice shots.
Apha, are these recent shots? They are great, but if they were taken recently they'd be a far-cry from how this scenary would have looked in the summertime.

You mention violet fields, well in paddock-wood in kent there is a field that is literally purple. I think it is lavender, but I can't be sure. Not sure if it would have been like that in 1940...

Well I'm fully expecting a barrage of abuse for this, but I presumed the lilacish grey fields to be dry ploughed earth.
I've always thought it looked a bit purplish in bright sunlight.
It may be more pronounced from altitude.
yours expectantly..........

Really? Yes...I can see the abuse coming. I'll fetch you an umbrella

The Lilac field that I am talking about really is lilac. It's so in your face that you'd fail to notice it if glancing at the scenary. However, fields like this aren't around in high numbers, and in the SoW shot there appears to be a few lilac fields....

I really can't judge though. I mean, the SoW shot shows textures that to me look like a saturated spring day. But that's just my opinion.

Well, let's see, we don't actually know what stage of the war the sim will begin at.
Maybe we'll start with Hurris in France in the winter of 39-40, moving through to Dunkirk in May, the channel in June, and mayhem in July-Sept, with fog, frost and drizzle in October.....
I hope so. I'd miss having a bit of snow around.

Good point. I hope you're correct, although I have this inner voice telling me that Oleg has already stated they will only be starting with the BoB (the RAF BoB-timeline: 10_July-31_October)

Continuing what Oleg mentioned a week or two ago, there appears to be an assumption that the white balance used in the OP's photos is good...

Can this assumption be turned into a known fact?

Secondly, there appears to be some light smog in the photos, without anything similar to compare to in the SoW BoB shots.

Hi

I really didn't intend to start a how scenery should look thread.

I'm sure Oleg and 1C Team know what they are doing when it comes to how things should look

Just for fun though I played with the WoP screen shot a little and warmed it up.

And I hope I don't offend Oleg but I toned down the "pastel" look in the SoW shot.

Im pretty sure though that we will in SOW have something completely different
