Pirated the game, now want to buy
Hi all, after being horribly dissapointed by Starcraft 2 (seriously, it took them how many years to remake a 12 year old game?), I downloaded Men of War. After a rocky start (where's the tutorial???), I got the hang of it a little. And now I love MoW.
However, I now want to buy the game for real. If I buy it from Direct2Drive for $8.93, will I be able to download patches of the MoW website, or do I need to wait for D2D to update it, ala Steam? And are the saved games transferable? Last edited by Ba5; 08-15-2010 at 07:58 AM. |

i bought my game at Gamersgate. this version works with "standart" patch from DVD/CD version. Quote:

There is a killer deal on MoW right now at Gamersgate. Might as well get Red Tide as well. Both combined for less than the D2D price.

Thx 4 letting us know. I might take advantage of that. I heard that RT missions are very good.

Red Tide are for fans of ultra micromanagement, ala soldiers: heroes of WW2.
PS. MoW costs only ~ 10 USD on 1C website. I recommend buying it from here. |

Steam, Gamersgate, D2D, don't buy from them as there are too many problems. Just get them from a retailer. Saves should be transferable. Red Tide is very difficult, expect to spend 8 hours on the first mission.
As for price, I found my Men of War in Astrakhan, for about eight dollars. But watch out, some people take the CD key out and charge extra for it. |

Yes, but I would imagine that he is not really helping to ensure the survival of developers like Best Way and Digitalmindsoft; they need the money we spend on the game on release day to pay salaries, the rent, etc., downloading the cracked software and paying later when it is on sale helps them a little but not as much as the $40 on release day.
