Default Laying mines

In one mission there is an objective, where you are supposed to stop incoming tanks with AT- mines.

How do I use them? I managed to pick them up and drop them to the ground, but they don't go off, when run over by a tank.

Pulling my hair on this...

You don't just pick them up and drop them out of your inventory. In the bottom right is a button of some gears, click it and another panel will come up. If you have mines in your inventory a icon will appear, click it. Then you can lay mines in a line from your soldiers current posistion. If you click the button, hold shift, and lay mines, you can choose where on the ground to lay mines.
