Ties /Demon Spider Problem/bug

Hi Guys,

Just replayed the game thru to the Demon spider (After my old save games were ruined by the new steam patch, but thats another story)

Ok, so I action the 2 consoles, follow the spider thru the door, and into the elevator, no problems, but then I cant click the lever to use the elevator.

Ive replayed the chapter several times from scratch, same problem.

The elevator on the right is fine, closed doors, the one on the left is just a brilliant white portal. When I walk thru,. the elevator doors open, everything looks fine, until I try and action the lever.
Console shows a 'bad command' elevator-open, and another error basically saying a bugged instruction to open the lever

Ive tried kidding it into action using d.fly and d.noclip, but the spider wont spawn on the upper level, I need to be able to action the elevator lever

Any ideas, fixes etc would be great,
