Smile PS3 "New faces, Veterans?" (AoA2?)

I see new faces, but my old friends seem to have disappeared????

Hey guys, I want to first apologize for not showing up for plane battle tournament, hope it was fun.

I created this thread after typing a very lond reply to the "to aces" thread about mirgervin. Unfortunately, I guess I timed out and my entire post was lost (pissed off, has it happened to you? hope I am not alone or I will feel dumb lol)

* Well, that post was basically, a summary of my "Ace of Aces" final match against him and some tips I found useful enough to give him some fight. I didnt consider myself a proper opponent for him at the time and I definitely dont consider myself a proper opponent for most of you here today lol. I wish I had the time that I had when I first started playing this game, maybe then I could have caused Mirgervin to sweat Say hi to him for me when you see him please. I didnt make it public but Mirgervin did not accept the $70 price that he won for that 1st place tournament. I was a bit dissapointed that the match for 3rd place did not even take place and that is why I really lost interest in any more "Ace of Aces tournament" related material.

* It was a tournament I enjoyed and easy to organize and run. With the amount of new faces comes a sense of refreshness to the game and I was thinking about creating "Ace of Aces 2" With all the money I did not manage to give away I can have some reward money (not as much as before but still money ) I think that a price adds some spice to the competition. I know that 1vs1 tournaments may no longer be popular, but there are many new faces that may think otherwise. I would not go into 2vs2 or other team tournaments because they require more organizing, but a 1vs1 (nice and simple) I can manage the time for.

Let me know guys, I can set it up in no time. Hello again to my "old friends" and nice to meet you to the "baby boomers"

Default Ace of Aces 2

Hello Edal,

Good to see you here again. Welcome back!

I welcome the idea of an Ace of Aces 2 tournament. I'm not sure if you are aware, but I asked the publisher and he agreed to sponsor a tournament. The idea was that they'd be giving out PS money prices for the first three, plus perhaps a trophy for the winner.

The last I heard was that they'd finalise their budget for the year and would then commit. This has been a while ago so I'll check back with them for news.

It would be great if you could have the patronage over the tournament.

I'm in.

Best,

MACADEMIC

A ladder would work better than a single-elimination tournament, it would take less time to set up and complete matches and would allow for an on-site leaderboard.

There is unfortunately not as much activity here as there used to be. BOP is getting old for a lot of people.

hey guys, it seems like what kozzmo explained is true, not too much is happening around here anymore

Well, the Aces of Aces 2 tournament was a suggestion, something I am familiar with and willing to organize if you guys want. Obviously, it would be great if 1C could sponsor it, maybe with an official mark we can get the attention of more people. I still have the French copy of the rules and everything will run basically the same so like I mentioned before, it wont be any trouble for me to get it running.

Spread the word if you guys would like this to happen please, and Macademic let me know about the sponsorship please.
