Alright guys, well this week is almost over. So far it seems like UK will win the Air Superiority Mission over Sicily, but the USSR will capture its territory (unless a miracle happens lol)

Good Games, please post any problems that you think need attention.

Problems noticed: CTA matches need to be played on 2 airfields. UK players need to login in more often
great first week! I'm not sure how you can take a ground target without air superiority but hey!
There deffinately needs to be more uk players on! All o have seen is you, Gaz, amr, haitch and errr that's it I think?

I doubt I speak for others, but personally I'm not having much fun so far with this. I just don't feel the balance is there - the USSR team are obviously all really keen, and really good, and they have LAs.

It gets quite tedious being shot down for the umpteenth time trying to get angles on one by another that flew past you in the opposite direction 2 seconds ago.

Or trying to land my Spitfire at 200 whatever units I have, only to have it spin round and roll onto a wing or tip onto its nose. That is if it doesn't get insta-killed first.

It seems that every single game I've been in ends with double or triple UK deaths to the USSR. It would be fine now and then but wears thin quickly. I did actually come on to retire from the tournament, but don't think I want to go quite that far just yet... But maybe that's why the UK team are somewhat less keen than the USSR...?

(Disclaimer: getting made redundant on Friday probably isn't helping my state of mind towards getting hammered over and over. Sorry)

you guys do have 3 of the semifinalists from the AoA tournament, most of your matches have involved at least 2 of the 3. Your team is loaded with talent, don't give up plz

screenshots pending edal... we played a few more but I don't think it's all gonna be finished by tomorrow, it's already 2am in Europe. 3-day weekend here but idn if they have mlk-day there.

I think some kind of schedule should be agreed on when specific matches will be played to ensure numbers turn up. atm, the USSR just sits around waiting for 2/3 UK players to turn up.

Exclamation Battle for Europe Reminder

To all players,

I always say this about all the competitions that I have created and I will repeat it. MY MAIN INTENTION FOR THIS TOURNAMENT IS SO THAT WE CAN ALL HAVE FUN!!

Yes, the objective is to win but not at the cost of discriminating players for their lack of skills. Teams are meant to be leaderless, I am not dictator of UK team, Kozzmo is not dictator of USSR team. Dont see us that way, we can not tell you "you cant play, or you can". What makes us "special" is that we are the first to have access to updated information about the tournament's status and we draft new players, that is it.

Inauguration Week is Officially over

** Updated report is now on first page, post # 1&2 (Rules were changed to post #3)

Exclamation Battle for Europe Patch :)

Based on participation and other factors observed from this inauguration week I am thinking of changing a few things:

1. First team to submit attack plans are not forced to reveal what Hangar they will choose before 6pm, however, they must submit this info by 11:59pm of the same day. All other information will still follow the rules. Also, minimum % of manpower sent to attack or defend Territory Capture will now be at least 40% instead of 50%.

2. Two Airfields for all CTA matches, if territory is UK's then matches will be in British Map. Same goes for USSR.

3. Number of CTA wins will change to 3 (for attacker if the territory has been successfully bombed), 4 wins (for defenders to win mission), 5 wins (for attackers that have not successfully bombed the territory)

4. Number of ground targets that need to be destroyed for Strategic Bombing success will now be 4 (each ground target destroyed will equal 125 resources from territory's income)

5. A team may surrender a mission if they think necessary so that they can spare loss of manpower. This must be posted on the tournament's thread for everyone to see, and also submitted to me, or to you in case we are the ones to surrender a Mission.

6. Each bomber death will = 3 deaths instead of 5.

7. A reported ramming of a bomber by a fighter plane will result in the player being demoted 1 rank and suspended for 1 day. If reported as accidental, the player will be suspended the rest of that day only.

8. All officers may host or accept any mission (it will be too confusing I now realize, to follow my original idea for this)

Those are good changes, but the biggest problem is still that the rules are so Byzantine that only their author can bear them all in mind at once. Even the briefings constantly have to be referred back to.

There needs to be some kind of team penalty for failing to play enough matches. Why would a team need to surrender a mission objective when all it has to do is stop showing up?

It's also pretty unrealistic to expect the ranks listed to see this thread, figure out the rules, form a strategy and PSN it to you, all within 12 hours. There's just not that much activity on this site. Most of the players are far too laid-back for that.

Really sorry for being inactive guys... REal life has kinda taken over. I go to school 4 days a week, and have had many unexpected things pop up... I'll be active ASAP, but I'm worried that I'll make obligations for a match, only to find out 5 minutes before it starts that I can't be there...

Hey my fellow comrades,

I regret to inform you that I won't be able to play in the tourney... please replace me with someone else in my squad. I was really looking forward to flying with you guys, but it will have to wait until sometime in the future, if that's okay....

Exclamation Just Follow the Briefings

Follow the Briefings, write them down if needed (kozzmo, you seem to be managing USSR team, so why not decide the missions for them already. Mirgervin never vistis this forum). Between you and the other USSR players that do participate figure this out.

I manage to do all this organization and keep on schedule, why cant you guys if all you need to do is read what to do 1 time per week????

* I have changed what ranks work for because it would be too "confusing" for you guys to follow my original idea. Dont know what else to do to make this simple.

* All you guys need to do is look at the Briefings 1 time per week, and at the end of a week, get together with your team to set the plans for the next Briefing.

*** Too many people are not enjoying this because it is becoming a "WIN, WIN!!!" focus on the part of USSR team, let players participate kozzmo, why only send your best? Macademic was online last time and reaper1526 and they never participated in those Air SUperiority Matches (only you, Mirgervin, tagemandbagem). However, you take on 2 of my beginner players and then you guys mock them for not wanting to play more? Many times I asked you to play me and someone else a 2vs2 Air Superiority match, you preferred the Y-29 mission. So, it is not our fault you did not have enough time to beat us.

** To all, follow the BRIEFING RULES. I am not interested in continuing this tournament if people are not having fun or are not given the opportunity to do so.

(sorry if this offends any one, but I am spending a considerable amount of time on this and I am beginning to think it is not worth it)

************************************************** ******************
I will cancel this Tournament if necessary, otherwise, ready up for week 1!
