Default Just bought IL-2 PSP version

Just picked up IL-2 for PSP. Played the first mission (there is no tutorial). Graphics and flight model are nice for a handheld. At the start of the campaign you an choose to play on three different difficulty settings. These seem to influence the enemy AI and not youre plane handling.

The multiplayer is ad-hoc only. I don't know if you can fly missions for the Germans because i didn't play through the campaign yet but i suspect it is not possible. And remember: this game is much more simplified as the PS3/X360 version but still fun.

Can you still fly pretty realisticaly or is it dumbed down, ie the plane automatically banks as you turn?

It's dumbed down for certain. E.g when turning both the airelons and rudder are applied. They cannot be oerated seperately.

It's still fun for a handheld game. For the most part it reasembles arcade mode on the consoles with external view only and an even more dumbed down flightmodel.

in the manual it says to use barrel roll to evade enermy aircraft but its impossible to barrel roll takes a while to get use to the flight model but still its ok for a psp game i might make a vid later and post it if i can so you can see for yourselfs what its like
