Corrupt Data Bug (PS3)

While playing online with two people i know, they have encountered a bug which results in there data being corrupted.

There PS3 freezes on them, so they have to restart. Once they log back on there save data has been corrupted and lost all there data.

Has anyone else had this problem, or is everyone already aware of this.

Any info would be great.

Might be nothing to do with the game, it could simply be defective PS3's or defective HDD's causing the freezing and corruption.

I am also having problems with IL2. I havent taken it online yet, but it freezes in the single player. I get through maybe 1 or 2 missions before it either freezes in game or at the loading screen. I took my original game back to where I bought it & switched it out for another one with the same results. Figured it most likey had to do with the PS3 3.0 firmware issues that everybody else seems to be having. None of my other games have any problems.

stay away from uncharted at the moment, it's the worst....

I personally don't have any problems with il2 (yet?)...
