Default Can't get 4.09m update to work

n trying to update my IL-2 1946 program I can't seem to get the update to work. I made a complete new copy and placed the folder on the Desk Top. The new copy on the Desk Top worked with no problem. After I updated to 409m the first screen that comes up stays for about one second. Then the program just stops running. My system is Windows Vista. Need help if someone knows what the problem is.

What was the original version you had 1l2 1946 v407m or patched to v408m ?

You need to go from 407m-408m then 4091bm

Ok
so IL2 was running ok with v408m (this is important)

you extracted the update v4091bm into it and it now wont start ?

You can take the file from 4.08m

mg_snd.dll

and replace v4.091bm mg_snd.dll with it and see if it starts then.

ok have you put your old conf.ini in the new installation ?

Also check your screen resolution is the same in the conf.ini as your desktop to see if it starts.

Also just a thought were you using a no dvd exe before ?

Yes, the resolution in both conf.ini are the same. I don't use the No dvd program.
