Default Stop Comparing it to the PC version!

Comon guys, I have the pc version and play it at 2560x1600 on my 30" gateway xhd3000, with trackir4pro, and the ch fighterstick, throttle and pedals....and in now way did I ever expect the console version to match up with the PC VERSION!

However, for what it is, the console version is pretty damn sweet, stop expecting it to be the TRUE PC VERSION SEQUEL which is STORM OF WAR!!!

Everytime you get critical on Birds of Prey, remember what it is REALLY competing against, Heros over Europe (HOE), HAWX and Ace Combat6 and to a lesser extent over G fighters and remember that those all pretty much blow in comparison!

Stop trying to make this game what it is not and love it for what it really is...the RED HEADED STEPCHILD of IL2-1946 and Storm of War!

Well it does have the same name. I don't really think you can blame people for expecting the games to be similar. Heck, I wasn't even aware of Storm of War until after I started visiting this forum.

Of course I can compare it with the PC version, I have a console that is far more capable of running the game at full tilt than the original that was released nearly 8 years ago, I don't have to run a Windows Operating system at the same time, in fact the only limitation is the lack of keyboard which is the only compromise.

Or am I expecting too much ?

It's not even been released yet! So many judgements based purely on the demo! lol

I think the comparisons are inevitable. But to be honest I think it stands up very well against the PC hardcore.

I've been waiting for Storm of War for ages now and stumbled across BoP by accident a few weeks ago. I thought "No! They've sullied IL2's good name!". But I am honestly so impressed. Using the same joystick I use for my PC, I find very little difference in the flight model of the Spitfire.

It's not going to offer the complete hardcore rawness off a PC sim - consoles primarily reside in the living room.

But the devs have certainly bridged a gap between PC 'elitism' and consoles. They're pushing the envelope, and have managed to balance the CoD community, with the sim fan. That's a tough act to pull off! Hats off to them.

The expectations for this game are through the roof. I almost feel sorry for the developers.

l88bastard: you would have a better chance telling water to stop being wet then stopping the pc comparison
