Default incorrect password (cd 260)

Hi,

I have just purchased men of war assault squad GOTY edition on steam. I had perviously played the demo via steam and really enjoyed it so wanted to jump straight into some multiplayer, but here in lies the issue.

When ever I try to log into gamespy I get the incorrect password (cd 260) error. I know that I am tryping the password ok because I can log into my gamespy account fine via the gamespy website. I have noticed this issue in the forums and have been trying to sort the problem for a couple of hours reading the advice given in previous posts but am still drawing a blank.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Did it ever ask you for the cd key the first time u logged in into the GOTY version that you purchased? If not or you never successfully logged in, try making new gamespy account and use that.

It hasn't asked me for the cd key at all yet. If I try and create a new accound on a different e mail address it gives me a different error message stating : Invalid Password (cd:514).

For some reason when I log into the gamespy website it says that I have multiple accounts associated to the one e mail address and gives me the option to sign in with any of them. I have tried each of these in men of war and none of them work, each time giving me the invalid password (cd 216) error, or telling me that no account has been created under that user name. It seems to be a viscious circle, the likes of which I seem to be unable to get out of...

Just curious, because I am STILL trying to get online with this damn game. I see in the username password section that characters are case sensitive, however when you enter a capital letter it doesnt show up as such........could this be why my password is always wrong? I know this is clutching at straws now but to be honest if I cant get this game working online then I am going to feel pretty hard done by. Effectively I have paid £30 on steam for a game which I cannot access pretty much any of the additional content I have paid for. As such I am left with a husk of a game which consists purely of a single player campaign, seeing as though in this game you cant even play a skirmish/multiplayer style match with AI......
