Default Just ordered Red Orchestra 2 Special Edition for 11€

It was too cheap to pass up. Does anyone around here play the game? How is it? do you play in squads? Any feedback would be nice!

Cheers!

I have it. I'm a big fan of RO games. They are in the process of patching it up (sound familiar?) and adding some more features that make it more like "classic" RO1. Many thought RO2 seemed too fast paced and arcade to try and cater to the CoD crowd and turned a blind eye from their hardcore base.

I fall somewhere in the middle and like RO2. The graphics are such a step up from RO1, it feels slightly faster, but I always thought RO1 was too slow compared to reality. The thing RO2 is lacking is in maps. They are smaller than RO1. I loved the giant maps of RO1 where you had large open field fire fights. RO2 maps are smaller and all in one giant city usually.

I've been playing the Darkest Hour mod a lot lately and that is amazing for how old it is.

My squad played for 2 month or 3, beta version and the released one.

There are more than a pair of issues with that game (cod like leveling, fast pace, small maps, really horrible fatigue and wound management, but above all an awful hit detection system at close combat)... infact we all uninstalled it.

Instead we are playing Arma2 - Invasion 44 a lot; we also run a server and we play twice a week.

RO and the mod DH were very much more like a sim. RO2 is just call of duty with WW2 skins. Its a real shame. The tanks are pretty bad and there is only two of them...

Ok, thanks for the feedback y'all! Good to know they are working on the issues, I don't mind waiting for patches, CLoD has taught me true patience. Looking forward to trying the game out.

Default Good but tanks have 'gone'

Played beta and own the game... stupid amount of updates in a small period of time... didnt really notice the faults mind...

Not as good as RO though... Too many games seem to be 'rushed' or left unpolished!
