il 2 1924 not launching after update

hay i just got my copy of il2 1924 with a joystick from amazon today.
i installed the game on my laptop - vista 32bit os (macbook pro 2.6ghz 8600m gt)

now with a clean instal the game works fine, but once i instal the update 4.10 the game stops working, dont know why.
the 4.101 gives me the same problem.

so how do i fix this?

i have tried reinstalling a few time's to see if that fixes it but no luck.

im relay excited, this is the first time iv had a joystick and a new game for a long time so id relay love some help to get the updates working,

im currently uninstalling, ill reinstall clean now and play stock till i get some help. id relay like to get the updates as i assume they will fix ~~ things etc
