Default Stupid Question time (view controls)

After much confusion I figured out how to smoothly pan ones head around in the cockpit & also how to move the actual physical location of where your head is. (Leaning to the side, etc etc.) Is there a way to move the control of this however off the mouse? I see that you can move the buttons that toggle control of this but I can't figure out where, if anywhere, you can actually change what device controls it. Reaching for the mouse whenever you want to move your head's location is quite awkward.

Most flight simmers use Trackir or freetrack, all you need for freetrack iirc is a webcam, I'm sure some freetrack users on this forum can give you advise on setting it up if you need it. IMO it is very hard (not impossible) to fly a combat flight sim without one of the two.

You can assign views to joy hat in control settings (do not forget setting both Views pages).

There is various 3rd party software that can assign mouse to keyboard (and joystick). It should be called smth like joy2mouse or mouse to key or mouse emulation just google it.
