Its been along time since high end PCs haven't been a rip off through lack of competition.
I'll be saving my pingers till then.
I'm ok with my single 27" without any 3d stuff and I'm hoping it'll run pretty smoothly or all the talk about optimization has been just smoke and mirrors.

Sandy's are pretty affordable compared to the previous pricing. For example the 2500k is about 200$ which is a steal if you ask me. Haven't seen any schedules for bulldozer except 2011 and I ain't waiting any more. There is always the next big thing just around the corner, isn't it?

Not a bid deal as such, just thought i mention it.
I haven't seen any proof of this from any benchmarks I've looked at. Older intels with price tag around 1k have topped 2600k but never seen 2500k taking the lead.

Maybe it can be true for older titles, don't know..

By using the power button? By running DOS 3.0?

You can disable cores of your CPU in the BIOS, but AFAIK if your have a program that is written as a multi threaded program then you are still going to be running multiple threads even if it is on the one core.

cheers!

Not initially at release - they had issues that they were unable to resolve in time.

But it will be a priority for the (near) future.
