So you lie in hopes that people will spend their money on a bugged game in hopes that that money will be spent on fixing the next iteration?
Sounds like your trying to get people to spend their money for personal gratification. That kinda sucks.

So why dont we do the same for CLOD that we are so passionate about

Help CLOD them with good reviews to get the average up!!
It may be stable and finished for you, and if it is, Im very glad. But, for a number of us, serious graphical issues remain, which prevent many from calling it a finished product. Unfortunately the last two RCs and the patch created graphical issues which did not previously exist, and remain disappointing. My good friend wanted to buy this game, but he is just as capable as I in reading the forums and has decided against it. Prior to the last two RCs, I recommended the game to him, and was of the opinion the game would be finished and polished. It's just not so.

You really think money is the issue, don't you?

Create a great product...it'll sell. Developers know it.

Yes and if you want the team to have cash to give you BOM then this is one way... Or dont, but then dont complain if BOM doesnt deliver your expectations...

Its like those people who are too lazy to go and vote and then complain about the politics...
The BoM team have already had their funds allocated. The only thing that buying CoD would do now is line the coffers of 1C / Ubi of which they would most likely direct the funds to other things.

I'm not saying buying CoD would be bad, but it's very unlikely to directly help the team. CoD is now a finished product, maybe not what we want it to be, but it's done.

"Quality" will always attract .. even if it takes time to get there!

CA just released their latest video of Total War Rome2 showing the siege of Carthage (3rd Punic war) and it's a jaw-dropper. i can see gamers upgradng their computers just to play it ... CLOD / BOM could be the same !

i've already mentioned CLOD in a few forums, showing quality destruction models. I'll wait for BOM to see if it's worth the effort to pump.

+1

The last patch has shown that there is quality there, but it's just not a finished product. So I'm putting CoD down to an experience. Not nessaserily a bad one either.

The dev team and Illya know full well that the majority of us will be hesitant about jumping in on reputation alone after this. I just hope there will be a collector's edition left over if I decide to buy it

Trying to get the game some renewed attention on sim-oriented websites is probably more effective than trying to skew the reviews on Amazon.
So I'm glad PC Pilot took the effort and came back with a positive view. Certainly won't hurt to write to our favorite sim-sites and ask them to give this final CLOD patch a fresh chance.

I tried to do my part by mailing RockPaperShotgun about the new patch and asking if they might consider giving it some coverage in their Friday Sim section.
The response was certainly worth the 2 minutes I spent writing them, now we just need to hope he doesn't want to burn CLOD in a bonfire anymore and ends up writing something positive this time round. =)

Thanks *****. An excellent suggestion. It might not be for a week or two, but I'll definitely be revisiting CLOD at some point in the coming month.

Hi, first of all sorry to bother you but I wanted to ask if you have considered giving Cliffs Of Dover a quick go over on "The Flare Path" now it has recieved it's final patch?
It has improved a good bit since it's initial release and buggy early patches. And even though the offline play is still severely lacking, the online play is now really enjoyable with up to 89 players on a server at once(without horrid lag for once).
Maybe you have some time in the next few weeks and could include a short bit about this patch and how online play feels now on a full server with voicecoms.

Patchnotes : http://store.steampowered.com/news/9130/

A full-switch server that handles massive online battles smoothly can be found here : http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/content.php

Thanks for reading this, from a RPS/Flare Path and sim fan
*****.
