Default The name, "Storm of War" is already taken?

Was browsing the bookstand while waiting at the airport earlier today when I saw this new book for sale:

http://www.andrew-roberts.net/pages/...orm_of_war.asp

I must admit I always thought the title to be rather artless and rather hoped it would get changed before release. I never expected to see it snatched up by someone else. I wonder if Oleg is aware of this and if he or this Roberts fellow have tried to copyright it. Last thing I'd want to see is Oleg caught in some legal wrangle beacause the name was already taken.

Interesting, thanks for posting. I'm am going by air on Wednesday, so I'll check this out too at the airport bookshop!

Yes, I've also wondered if BoB SoW might perhaps be a working title ... but then again Ubisoft have nabbed www.stormofwar.com.

I've seen at least one other book with Storm of War in the title, but I forget what war it was about. It was three or more years ago I think I saw it in a Waterstone's.

I saw this title a few months ago too.

Worm of Store is better.

Actually some else's suggestion of OMG = Oleg Maddox Games (posted in one of the update threads) is the perfect resolve. It allows for non-combat add-ons too.

Although, how many books have Battle of Britain in the title? Surely if the phrase is extended, it is of little consequence? I thought SoW was just a placeholder and subject to change...
although having said that, I have always really like the name. It has a great ring to it.
Or, is SoW a general title for the sim's franchise? If so, I can see why there may be trouble, but then again hasn't Oleg already marketed the SoW name?

It doesn't take much to work around SOW...IL2 SOW,etc.

I suspect Oleg will prominently display IL2, because it is so well regarded.

It would not make sense for him not to play up the IL2 a great deal.

Also, Oleg was mentioning SOW about 5 years ago. So, it could be any conflict could require the other party to drop the SOW.

OMFG - Oleg Maddox Flying Games is what I should have written.

...or MADAS - Maddox Air Simulations.

...but why not simply 'Maddox' - Maddox Battle of Britain, it works fine for me.

If it's going to eventually (and hopefully) encompass tank/vehicle, train and private plane add-ons it needs really to drop the 'air' and 'war' label.

Anyone spot am R or TM?

No?

See. That's what OM should take care of, however it's not gonna work in all countries, since Storm of War is rather a description or defintion than a name.
Swiss law for instance is most likely not going to accept it(if there was a lawsuit).

We tried this with "Powerbike", they told us to FO as it's a definition, we only could get the "C" protection for the logo.

Oleg talked about having a different name about a year ago. Some name that would appeal to the MS crowd I believe he said...a politically correct name
