Thanks.. I really struggle without padlock and wondered why it's not included as a Sim option.

The reason I would like it in is that if it's a simulation then it should simulate the pilot as well.. By that I mean that there should be a way to padlock onto a target that is visable through the canopy. Once your eyes have locked onto a target it should stay locked on unless it wouldn't be visable in real life (underneath or behind etc). Then you have to look around to re-aquire. This would behave more realistically because it's the way the human eye works. But, I can't think of a way that it would work other than on a timer (so if you look in the direction of a target for more than 10 seconds it locks on) to me that would make more sense than having to worry about 'controlling' your eyes and trying to fly a plane.

Well I can see I have hit few nerves by posting. I shall ignore some of the childish remarks and answer some of the more salient points.

Yes I do believe I have mastered arcade mode, which is evident to the people I have been playing. Many of them are not infact new players, they are old hands I have been playing against for a while. There has been an upsurge in recent weeks of people actually playing BoP on 360. In order to try and improve this somewhat I had an idea.

The intention of my post was to perk more interest in playing. You see as soon as someone makes a post such as mines, many people will them seek out that person online to play against them. This means that other players may come back to "show me up" as it were. Its inviting a challenge, a point that a number of you failed to realise. If some players see my post and then think "im going to take that bugger down a peg or two", then it means that there will be more people online playing.

As a few of the older members will remember I have in the past given a number of tips and pieces of advice to improve a players ability to play when faced with certain difficulties (such as taking out an IL on RL/Sim easily). I do play realistic on the odd occasion but as I have said before I dont have a flight stick so the subtle movements required for RL/Sim are extremely tricky for me with a pad due to a number of factors.

So, with any luck when I try and find a game online in the next few days I should see one or two of you peeps out there intending to give me a beating at BoP. The final part of my previous post was paying homage to the ones I play against and that beat me, and issuing a challenge to the ones that haven't.

I hope that about covers it.

Hey mate. Dare you to take me on at Mariokarts. I'll have a red shell up your tail pipe before you can even think about singing your own praises, lol.
So you're good!! Big deal. Better than most!! Big deal. I'm also bloody brilliant at F1 World Championship (N64) with every aid on but after crossing the line 1st I can't help feeling that it just felt like a scalextric car race with hyper-super handling. I had the safety net knowing that nothing was gonna go wrong if I went off or hit anyone & the wins felt very very empty until I moved up, turned off the aids, dropped down to manual shift. Hey sure, I hardly win anymore but, man, the feeling of achievement that's bestowed on you when you make the podium atleast. Catch my drift?
BTW; that was years back. I grew up long ago!!!
lmao, "Prince of stabilizers". Totaly agree. You should see how amazing I am at darts when standing 1 foot away from the board, I get like 140 or 180every time.

Seriously though, A lot of people with very fast broadband connections take it for granted. They forget that the people they are playing may have some degree of lag as they dont have a god like connection. The faster the game action, the more the lag makes the differece between a hit or miss. So arcade shows it up much more than realistic or sim.
15 kills and 1 death would not be posible in a arcade style uberfurball if every player had equal chance to hit another plane.

Especially when the game tells you where to aim.

on the times i have gone over to arcade mode when there is no sim matches i've noticed that the little reticule telling you where your bullets will hit is a little off.
e.g. aiming the little reticule ahead of the target plane will up your chance of hitting the enemy plane

Wether thats all down to a matter of distance i dont know, but thats what i believe will garuntee you a kill in arcade

I think that's a very good illustration of lag, even in the later model 109's with the MK103/MK108 cannons which have a low muzzle velocity, aiming directly at the lead indicator ensures a direct hit in offline training. Going online I always have to lead the lead indicator. Sometimes by up to as much as twice the distance indicated by it to score hits.

There are other ways...
F.i. the guys who are trying to organize tournaments...
Or maybe we should start an XBOX league...
Where people register to a website, then can organize their matches...
With some leaderboard etc...

If you want to play, please add GT: LGorrit.
