Love the La-7 as well. Think it's the best plane to start with, since it's so easy to fly. It's outturned by a Spit IV, but those are trickier to fly. Disadvantage of the La-7 is it's fire rate though..
109's are also easy to fly, but they have a higher turning radius than most planes.

funny how the Russian devs made a game with uber russki planes and bargain basement yanky fighters...just sayin (build quality (not strength) irl it was kind of the other way round)
Best plane ...109 g6...anything outside of a 1on1 encounter and its got a tasty amount of firepower and is well balanced. Just feels right...

strike? Gotta be ar234...catch me if you can...

as for the po...I would Love a BIG dogfight with nothin but Pos...someone please make it happen and be kind enough to send me an invite...

I dont know what it is, but every time I try to fly with a plane other than a Spitifire I dont enjoy it as much. If I had another crate that handled the same as a spit I would probably use it more. But now I am used to the wing based gunfire, so planes like the 109 put me off for aiming.

Its kinda got to the point now where me in my Spitfire are almost untouchable. Not to toot my own horn but with the MkIX last night I won an 8 man dogfight game 15-1 (as in I got 15 and only one other person got a single kill).

Btw, what one of the 109's is the best handling and how to do I get it?

Yet after Soviet Ace told me to check out the Yak 3, I've found myself flying it a lot more than the La 7... Even though I will never agree with him that it flies as well as the La 7. It's slower and doesn't turn as well.
Well considering that the La-7 has a larger engine and all around a bit larger plane than the Yak-3, I could see where your flaw in that statement is.

Too True!!! The early Russian planes were garbage, period. They were shot down in the thousands and yet here we are playing a game where the I16 and I153 are two of the top planes or at least hold their own??? C'mon thats downright embarrasing! Admittedly you just have to use the right tactics, I shot down several 153's last night in a F4 simply by gunning and running, they're so slow, just don't get into a turning fight. Such a shame about the 190 and P-51 they were in the top five fighters in WW2 maybe 1 and 2 if you consider the P-51D and the Fw190D9 in particular but the Russian dev's have made them far and away the two worst planes in this game, yes I understand that if used properly they have some positive points but they are no where near as good as they should be. Funny I thought only Americans were this delusionally patriotic.

Now that I've sufficiently ticked off two world super powers...

Loving the game overall what a blast, its just the online system needs work and some machines dynamics are innaccurate. All in all 8.5/10!!! Thank you Anton et al.

For me, it goes something like this;

Spifire XVI
Bf-109 K-4
P-51D-5 (Flight model could use some improvement though)
Ju-87 B-2
Fw-190 A-5

Ju-87 is awesome tbh, five bombs and a real small turning circle, I managed to shoot down a 109 and a B-17 with the front guns

Hey since we're talking on line here who the hell does one find a decent sized game? I live in Canada and the gameonly came out Friday so I haven't had much time but I did spend a couple hours on line last night and was only able to find arcade games and only very few players, not a single realistic game. I am missing something? To be honest the arcade was ok but seemed a lot like Blazing Angels now obviously its WAY better but the fact that is was a non stop furball with unlimted f/a, crazy speed and no stalling it was not what I'm excited about this game for. Is there a particular time or game type I should be looking for?

I would have said that most people play arcade (I know I do) because it's hard to stall. I played a few simulator strike games with a few friends earlier on, and although i'm beginning to get the hang of it, arcade does offer more fun per crashes, which are penny a piece in Simulator for me. I have to say that I did get kinda boring when every time I pulled back on the stick the plane stalled, entered a flat spin and plummeted to the ground like a sack of ******* bricks.
