I'm with you Tavingon.

I already bought CLoD, and it won't be complete without the eastern front, new maps, new aircrafts, revised FM/DMs etc.

The support so far has been good, although problematic. 1.5 years and still getting official patches! not many softwares can say that. (mind you a lot of softwares probably don't require it but that is besides the point) Latest patch seems to bring good results for most folks, it is getting there bit by bit.

Regards,
Sam.

The problem is Sam (without being negative) is that those same patches are required to make the original game have any semblance of playability, not even taking into account that the main part of this can still not be used (Channel map for coops).

1C/MG need to release patches if they are going to salvage anything of their reputation in the sim world.

It's called a difference of opinion and what is considered acceptable standards for each person. It's a matter of taste and personal preference and as such, highly subjective.

I've had nothing but improvements in performance with every single patch and so has a buddy of mine, both on modest rigs. So, i could also say that "the new patch works well for most people" because that's what i've personally witnessed.

The truth is that neither of us would know the real numbers in each case

I for sure can't judge them from a minority of users that frequent this forum. Let's not pull arbitrary statistics out of our collective hats

You can request a thread clean up and deletion of off-topic posts. I did laugh with the baby image and i do have my own share of things i consider long overdue to be fixed in CoD, but this thread is becoming a perfect example of everything that's wrong with this forum.

User A: "Hey, i think i will discuss idea X with the community"

User B: "No you won't. The only acceptable topic of discussion in every single thread is my disappointment at the state CoD was released, followed by what i consider the #1, most important missing feature. I will instead call on my friends, we'll take over your thread and make sure you only discuss what we want."

The funny thing is that usually the people who do as User B are the ones who cry havoc about "freedom of speech" when posts go missing, when they are in fact often stifling other users on this forum. Might as well put a piece of duct-tape over Tavignon's mouth and smack him over the head while they're at it for daring to have an opinion of his own

Go back and edit your posts gentlemen, or i'll do it myself. The first instance of the baby picture can stay

Blackdog, he wants to pre-order a non-announced game, there is not a lot of discussion we can do on the topic.... The entire discussion would seem to amount to "no.. you can't yet, possibly not ever (because MMOs are often f2p)".

Opposing viewpoints would amount to speculation (against new forum rules in some situations), "yes, he can pre-order it".

So maybe some threads could just run their course?

Please don't ban me,
von P.

I agree there's not a lot to talk about. He just suggested an early pre-order, so that people who share his opinion can contribute some cash and get the sequel when it's released. If it hadn't been derailed, it would have ran its course within the first 3 pages or so.

Yah, really. He didn't contact me, i just happened to be reading the thread. The fact that you simply assume so and your subsequent response is reminiscent of schoolyard bullying tactics, aka "don't tell the teacher or i'll punch you in the nose", come on

I stand by what i said in my previous post. My job here is not to shut up the people who are displeased with CoD. My job is to shut up the people who try to shut up the people, disrespect others and try to drown out different viewpoints with noise.

This is a thread with a specific context. If you got nothing to say that's relative to it you got no business posting in it, especially when you are free to open new threads that cover the topics you prefer.

I've helped moderate such threads as well and prevent supporters of the sim from shutting up the detractors, so everyone is free to have their say as long they are polite and respectful of others. In short, nobody has an excuse for mucking up this thread. It's dead simple. Thread locked for clean-up.

hey i think people will preorder if it adds the supposed "features" most of everyone wants like the weather, climate, prop wash, thrust vectoring, SU-26 . . .

I personally feel the big bad wolf issues will be fixed by the time the sequel comes out.

What will really get people on it, is if the sequel also release fly-ables of the non flyable ins BoB .

But I won't preorder, not after the shenanigans of this release. It's just me being practical. I've been burned by other preorders games like that Lord of the Rings War in the North, and the Ace Combat 7 for PS3 . . . and I played the games; found out stuff I really didn't like, and later the reviews hit on what I didn't like . . .

some ROF facts:

US Airmail service pilots flew airmail over 50 states in a Curtiss Jenny in days of old. ROF presents a sim that pushes realistic flight even further.

If you play ROF, ROF can control you. If you don't play ROF, you may be seconds from game over.

Rather than being viewed like a normal sim, ROF instead decides to shoot its way out of the monitor.
