I know, but both of you didn´t state what are your graphics settings. If he uses low graphics settings and you high, he could see more FPS due to better CPU utilisation, whereas you may already be graphically limited..then try to lower the settings. Just one possible cause of action. Of course I don´t say it is definitely this way.

Good point, I imagine many of us have the AA turned up and it was not using any fps before this patch.

my 2600k uses all 4 cores, but all in all Clod uses only about 20% of my total cpu power, average about 8% while just flying, so all the tasks could run on one core, if the one core was fast enough... any lag u get will be videocard related with a fast cpu...

also its not the amount of memory the videocard has, its the SPEED of the memory and the SPEED of the GPU

yep the latency of memory access, btw having more than 1gig is still a good thing

what im trying to say is... if your card has less than 1gb of memory, its probably too slow in the first place... so only the speed matters...

during the past years CPU/GPU have become so powerful that the computation rates have outpaced the memory access rates and if you have a not so good pipeline you can easily struggle, you have to do it in a very efficient manner and access the right texture at the right time or things may get out of hand and you waste cycles.

Well I've got no performance gain.
The game was running smooth before and is doing the same now.
No hickups at all i'm between 45 and 78 fps when looking backwards in start there is a slight improvement was 17 fps and is now 24 fps.
Some strange things are happening the throttle( a slaugh on it) in the 109 E3 is sort of transparent.same sort of thing is happening in the hurry but now on the steering collum as there is a flickering texture under de word closed.
The throttle action is changed now ideling will make me move forward at some speed already.
In landing there is a notisable ground effect keeping the plane in the air ( to) long
Same effect is not there while taking off.
The Britsh planes seem to swerve alot wile firing trowing of the aim.
The flickering shadows are still pressent and annoying
No game chrashes in several hours play, but then i dint have them to often anyhow
I'm still using the RAM disk wich gave me the highest performance boost.
the game is is running slick and gives a nice impression of the channel war before The Battle of Britain its self.

Cheers.

I thought they removed the processor affinity mask option in the conf.ini a couple of patches ago.

Same boost and same ProcessAffinityMask.

Also, maybe AVG driver makes difference: I am still using driver Beta Nvidia 285.38 (fited for BF3). But my card is a GTX 470, not in the top, but my fps doubled...
