Well, it's lucky that we have the F1 premiere in Melbourne tomorrow to look forward to...

Seriously, the game was released the 25:th of march in the CIS a year ago - why not celebrate that with a patch that fixes the game? Then we are ready to forgive this year of pain

Besides, I "rediscovered" IL2 version 4.11 after a discussion here in the forum last week. Every time I go back to the old beauty I realize that waiting a few more weeks is not that much of a problem. We have 200+ of beautiful aircraft and maps all over the world with rock solid MP. It's really not that far from the Grail accept that the CEM and visuals of the cockpits in CloD has made us picky... The problem is that many of us have put IL2 on the shelf waiting for the magic patch, which makes the pain worse than it has to. Fire up Hyperlobby and forget the childish attitude of the devs in Moscow that don't understand that people have a right to be really disappointed with a game that for the last six months cannot run for more than 30-60 minutes in multi player without crashing... And MP is what many of us live for in computer simulations as fighting an AI gets boring quite fast.

As the situation has developed here lately I have even started dreaming of Gaijin making some shock surprise out of World of Planes with a decent FM? They claim to work on an improvement of the FM with more realism. I really start to get scared that MG is going belly up soon, so what else is there to dream of? That P-51 in DCS? Will take ages before we have a plane set that makes it compete with anything... 777 Studios stopping their mass production of $10 WWI kites and going 20 years forward? Not in a couple of years...

It feels like the dawn of WWII flight simulations is finally going over into pitch black night

Because, and here's an outside of the box thought... because it's not ready yet.
